Rock Band Party time!!!!

We had a few friends come over this weekend and we ended up playing Beatles Rock Band! I cannot tell you the extreme amount of joy and pleasure I had when they said LETS PLAY.  You know that noise pigs make…I did it.

I’ve been wanting to do 4 player Beatles Rock band for a very long time, obviously, and it was everything I had hoped for. We had 2 guitars, one bass and one regular, drums and vocals. Everyone split duties though I am the only one who didn’t sing.  We eventually made the move to Rock Band 2 but encountered some “sync” issues. If anyone has a TV that has a 120 refresh rate be prepared for some fucking lame issues.I’m not saying we knew what the issue was at first but after much fumbling we did manage to figure out that was the issue. If richie were there I’m sure he would know how to do that.  Something came to me as we were playing how did we look as if we were the TV. I mean..we were all rocking around and moving but I have to wonder if we didn’t look like this while playing it – which is to say “Totally Moronic”

So, what about you? Do you think everyone looks silly while playing Rock Band, or do you get Ace Frehly’d Up and kick some major ass.

Holy Split! Beatles Abbey Road Released and I didn’t even know!

So, one of the >3< announced Beatles albums has been released. And by far and away my least liked album so you see me in the corner not giving a damn ok? That’s enough of the hate against this game , It was released on October 20th and the entire album is available to the fresh tune of 16.98 (what is this 1998 cd prices?).  At least the next two albums are going to be pretty nice, we get “Sgt Peppers” and “Rubber Soul”. No release date has been announced on those games but I’ll bet money it occurs before December 25
Rich and I talked about this on our podcast but it appears the other Beatles albums are t at best to become available for DLC.  Here’s something I stole from wikipedia. “While there is potential for the entire Beatles catalogue to be made available, such a scenario would be “stretching it a bit”, according to John Drake of Harmonix.[34] Drake identified the costly development process as a potentially prohibitive factor: “Every time we do one song, it’s not like Rock Band where we wait for the masters to come in and just author them… its like, send people to Abbey Road, use the original tape, separate them out… it costs thousands of dollars.”[68] Drake asserted that Harmonix would take sales of the currently announced albums into consideration before continuing development of downloadable content.”

Are you kidding me? I thought the albums were digitally remastered when Star Wars was raped and torn apart to the ugly beast it is now? Oh well.

Ringo’s Rock Band Drum Kit

Bewm, this is looking to be the Warner Brothers blu ray choice or Wal Mart pulling out of the HDDVD sales market for Rock Band. I mean. Really. Is there any bigger of a franchise than the beatles? Yeah World of Warcrafter’s, y’all aient got nothing on Stadium tours. So we’ve been seeing the other instruments for the Beatles Rock Band game, John’s Ric, Paul’s hofner bass, and George’s gretsch but we’re minus ringo’s famous kit. So. Here is it. I’ll go on record and state that the drums are the easiest parts to play minus say I feel fine. Here’s part of the song list for Beatles rock band.

“Back in the U.S.S.R.”
“Day Tripper”
“Get Back”
“Here Comes the Sun”
“I Am the Walrus”
“I Feel Fine”
“I Saw Her Standing There”
“I Want to Hold Your Hand”
“Octopus’s Garden”
“Taxman”

All you need is love will also be an xbox360 exclusive (hur hur) available for download. Additionally the game will include additional DLC, including full albums. With Abbey Road being released for the game shortly after release.

Beatles Rock Band theme’s

Ok. So, Kotaku is reporting on more Beatles Rock Band themed instruments. I don’t know how far this can strech to other releases but I’m sure it will be tried. The beatles although utilizing many instruments were really the first ones to introduce these specific instruments to Mass Media. Rickenbackers especially. Paul’s Bass. The gretsch not so much, they’ve been around for FOREVER. Anyways, whatever. They retail for 99.99$, for a new plastic toy to fill up your living room. I’m still using my Rock Band one stuff. lol. 🙂
