While it hasn’t even been announced yet, Edge-online has the good word through the rumor mill when this epic should be happening. April 2011 is the time frame. It kinda makes sense since Microsoft has Halo: Reach dropping this year, they’re not one to have major franchises in the same genre battling it out at the same time for sales. E3 is happening in June, we’re pretty sure some info about Gears 3 is gonna happen, so we’ll know for sure by then. Stay tuned.
Joystiq reports on what everybody and they momma knew…that the GTAIV Episodes would eventually find their way to the PS3 and PC. Dropping on March 30th, the rest of GTAIV’s fans can enjoy these gems. Third party exclusivity has been so hazy this gaming generation…these were obviously a timed one for the 360. Either way, great news for GTA freaks everywhere.
As was the case with the 360 versions, gamers will be able to purchase the episodes separately as DLC for 20$ a pop. Or a disc with both for 40$.
Chillin on kotaku, and lookee what we have here….awesome news for my Fallout 3 luvin PS3 brethren, and more awesome news for all. PS3 users get to tussle with the last 3 pieces of DLC that came out for Fallout 3 on 360 and PC…but then there’s also 2 new expansions coming.
“Point Lookout – Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content. Point Lookout will be available in late June for Xbox 360 and PC. Cost will be 800 points or $9.99. It will be available through Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live and through token cards available at retail. Point Lookout will be available on PS3 after the first three DLCs have been released.
Mothership Zeta – The aliens have returned, and they’re pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you’re tough enough to survive. Mothership Zeta is scheduled for release in late July for Xbox 360 and PC. Cost will be 800 points or $9.99. It will be available through Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live and through token cards available at retail. Mothership Zeta will be available on PS3 after Point Lookout.”
*Update* “A Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition will be available in October. It will include the original game plus all five add-ons for $59.99 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and $49.99 for PC.”
The wonderkid and I talked about this a little on the podcast, or was it the after podcast party? Anyways, here’s what I found from wikipedia. Seems like convinent timing of all this to go down but if it’s written is it true!?!?!?!?!?!
Punch-Out!! featuring Mr. Dream
Towards the end of the NES’s run, Nintendo’s license to use Mike Tyson as a special Punch-Out!! character expired. Therefore, Nintendo replaced Tyson with a fictional character based on a then-Nintendo tournament champion, Mr. Dream. A popular myth is that Tyson was removed due to his divorce from actress Robin Givens, and his conviction for rape, which did not occur until a year after the changeover. It is also believed by some[who?] that because Tyson lost the Heavyweight Championship to James “Buster” Douglas by the contract expiration, Nintendo made no attempt to negotiate a new one with him. In August, 1990, the game was re-released simply as Punch-Out!! (or Punch-Out!! featuring Mr. Dream according to Nintendo Power) only in North America. This version has become the “official” incarnation of the NES Punch-Out!!
Them smoov cats at Kotaku threw this up earlier today, news of the 2nd piece of DLC that’s exclusive to the 360 version of GTA IV (for now anyway), via Twitter…’you know it’s a Twitter world when’…amirite?..:-) Details apparently coming soon, I for one can’t wait…if you follow the gaming exploits of Jamie and I, yall should know by now that I’m as gaga as a kid on christmas morning with anything GTA. Microsoft paid a cool 50 mil to Rockstar games for exclusivity on 2 expansions to the GTA IV universe, we got The Lost And Damned, which was awesome. Hopefully the next one will follow suit.
Jamie asked about this on his last post….I should’ve threw it up when it was announced, but I was waiting for more info…..but umm, yeah…Fallout:New Vegas coming out 2010. It’s said to still be an RPG(suhweet), not being developed by Bethesda though(but published by them it seems)….I’m an Oblivion/Fallout 3 ho, so I’m a little sketchy on it. Obsidian Entertainment is developing it, and part of their founding group were original Fallout devs, so I look forward to seeing what they come up with.
